Peace Lily in Morning Shade. Shot with Olympus Mju II, Hoasca 800 film

Peace Lily in Morning Shade

A single peace lily lifts above a thicket of glossy leaves, its spadix catching the first filtered light that sneaks through the garden canopy. Drops cling to every blade, the background fades into deep emerald, and the bloom almost seems to float, separated from the rest of the understory by that crisp white arc.

I let the Olympus Mju II focus close and centered, trusting Hoasca 800 to balance the cool shade with a whisper of magenta along the petal edge. The film's grain stays fine at this exposure, but it still adds texture to the darker greens, helping the scene feel tactile rather than clinical. Because Hoasca 800 leans cyan in the shadows, the surrounding foliage goes velvety while the blossom stays warm, highlighting the delicate structure of the spadix and giving this simple botanical portrait a quiet intimacy.
