- Uses Unicode characters that visually appear upside-down
- Works in most applications that support Unicode (social media, messaging, etc.)
- Text is reversed and individual characters are flipped
- Perfect for creating eye-catching posts and messages
- Copy and paste the result anywhere you want to use it
How to flip text upside down
- Type or paste text into the Normal text box.
- The flipped version appears in the Converted text box as you type.
- Press Copy, then paste the result into a post, bio or chat.
- Press Clear to start over.
Example: Hello World!
The tool reverses the string, then swaps each character: e becomes ǝ, r becomes ɹ, W becomes M and ! becomes ¡. Letters that look the same upside down, like o, l and H, stay as they are.

Is this real text or an image?
Plain text. Characters like ǝ, ɹ and ʍ are ordinary Unicode characters, mostly from the phonetic alphabet, that happen to look like flipped Latin letters. That's why you can paste them anywhere that accepts text.
Why do some characters not flip?
Unicode has no flipped version of accented letters like é, emoji or most non-Latin scripts, so the tool leaves them unchanged. They still move to their reversed position.
Why do some capital letters show as boxes?
A few capitals use characters from less common scripts, such as ᗺ and ᖴ from Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics. On a device without a font for them you'll see an empty box. Lowercase letters display almost everywhere.
Does it work on Instagram, WhatsApp and Discord?
Yes, they accept Unicode text, so the flipped characters paste fine in posts, bios and messages. Username fields that allow only plain letters and numbers will reject it.
Can screen readers read upside-down text?
Not usefully. A screen reader announces each lookalike character by its own name or skips it, so a blind reader hears nonsense. Keep important information in normal text.
